Agile Delivery Lead

The UK Cyber team manages Cyber Security and Risk for the UK line of business, and also delivers into and aligns with the broader Enterprise Cyber program. This involves managing a broad portfolio of activities stretching across software and infrastructure engineering, risk management, application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, and Cyber architecture and consultancy. Our portfolio has a diverse range of stakeholders across the business including Technology, Product, UK and US leadership teams, Legal and Compliance. 

As an Agile Delivery Lead in UK Cyber, you will sit within the Strategy, Execution and Program Management team. In this role you will play a key part in driving the execution and delivery of the work the team does, using Agile practices. This will involve coaching and supporting UK Cyber teams as they adopt Agile principles and practices. You will manage and maintain the JIRA boards and backlogs for the teams comprising UK Cyber, driving transparency, visibility and celebration of the work that the teams do. This will help you to ensure that the specialist functional teams within UK Cyber are operating as one connected team.

About you:

  • You will have a background applying and leading delivery, according to Agile practices

  • Experience facilitating agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning and retros, ensuring they are efficient, effective and have a clear purpose. 

  • Experience of using Scrum and Kanban

  • The ability to coach and guide  the teams with agile practices. Also to articulate the ‘why’ behind the agile practices.  

  • Previous experience using team ceremonies alongside other tools and techniques to create feedback loops within teams to drive continual improvement.

  • Be confident having set objectives based on data (team data and wider data inputs); managing risks and dependencies to successful conclusions

  • Experience bringing cross-functional resources together to tackle complicated problems.

  • Be confident collaborating to ensure the clarity of intent and framing of problems to be solved by teams.

This role requires a range of skills, including:

  • Stakeholder management through transparency and automated reporting

  • Being at the centre of information flows to reduce meeting overheads and be the go-to person for leading cross-team initiatives.

  • Excellent analytical skills, providing structured thinking and challenge to big problems, transforming them into actionable work for teams

  • A passion for delivering positive outcomes for customers and business.

  • A high level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.

Experience in some of the following is an advantage:

  • Leading a diverse team through an agile transformation

  • Experience and/or aptitude for delivering technical projects with dedicated software engineering teams.

  • Experience in virtual SaFe PI planning for cross functional teams.

  • Working across one or more cross functional teams on technical projects - where the product strategy is defined, but the design and process to deliver a feature or capability is not.

  • Providing a clear communication and coordination channel between software engineering teams and also between engineering and wider business stakeholders.
