About this role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Capital One’s UK Supplier Management Office.
The UK Supplier Management Office is responsible for the management of the end-to-end Third Party life cycle, including sourcing, contracting, ongoing supplier and relationship management, and offboarding activities.
We’ve looking for someone who has a passion for supply chain management. This role will manage and partner with our Financial Support and Debt Recovery suppliers, including core managed services such as insolvency and bereavement; managing and being integral to the selection of Capital One’s panel of Debt Purchasers; managing the contractual agreements withproviders such as debt charities, and working with the business to identify and onboard providers of bespoke services such as digital recoveries products and consultancy.
Our Financial Support suppliers work with our customers in times of their greatest need. At Capital One ourcustomers come first. Your role will be to work with your internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure thebalance between core customer service and debt recovery is achieved
Beyond the above, you will learn to understand your supplier’s business inside out so that you can buildcredibility with your numerous internal and supplier stakeholders, deliver the best service for Capital Onethrough your suppliers, and help establish a longer term strategic path for the business within your categoryof suppliers.
What you’ll do
Be the industry expert in the debt recovery & financial support market. Partner with the business & help lead Capital One’s thinking on how to best leverage the expertise and the services of your managed suppliers, whilst providing insight from the wider recoveries marketplace
Build key relationships across the business, and use these relationships to help define & deliver recoveries strategy across recoveries Intent, Operations and Supplier Management
Develop your presence in the external UK Debt Recovery community to leverage insight into industry practices and challenges that will help build Capital One’s recoveries strategy.
Act as primary point of contact for your suppliers and manage an effective governance structure to enable the appropriate level of communication and interaction between Capital One and your suppliers
Act as a sourcing & supply chain subject matter expert consulting with Category Leads and the wider business on procurement strategies and end to end supply chain best practices (Financial Support & x-business)
Manage your suppliers through the full supplier lifecycle, including benchmarking, sourcing, due diligence, contracting, onboarding, service provision, ongoing assessment and supplier exit
Ensure business goals are met through strong performance, risk and relationship oversight of our extended supply chain and ensuring compliance with Capital One’s Third Party Management (TPM) policy
Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third party contractual obligations, and resolve performance related issues/escalations with third parties
Proactively identify and mitigate third party related risk
Responsible for managing all third party-related audits and assessments
Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant requirements
Travel to various third party sites from time to time (nationwide, UK based) as the role requires
What we’re looking for
You will need outstanding communication and relationship building skills. Supplier Managers must be able toinfluence and persuade executives, provide clear project guidance to customers, and collaborate acrosscross-functional teams.
Experience of working within Recoveries management within a financial organisation will be advantageous
Extensive experience of Supplier Management (ideally including Contracting & Risk Management) are key to this role
You’ll have, or will need to build, excellent subject matter expertise in third party selection, negotiation, communication, and third party management
You’ll need to be able to manage suppliers to contracts, and so experience in contracting is key
Ability to quickly build ad hoc teams to resolve problems or issues, as needed
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Demonstrated ability to influence others

This is a permanent position and is based in our Nottingham office.
Our hybrid working model offers you the flexibility to work from our offices and from home, when you need to.
