Senior Software Development Engineer - DevTools
What you’ll do:
Work as part of a self-organised DevTools engineering team to design and develop software products that enable other teams to deliver at pace, with high quality and secure solutions.
Support those products and its internal customers as part of our build-it own-it approach.
Deploy robust, scalable, and secure software to production environments
Work to ensure adoption of the software features and educate users on its use.
Deliver on the goals and vision articulated by Product Managers and your management chain
Focus on a portion of existing or new team software (e.g., significant component, set of features, mid-size application or service)
Innovate within your team, initiative area and contribute within your technical domain.
What we’re looking for:
Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, TeamCity, CircleCI, Artifactory, etc.
Solid programming skills in your language of choice (not necessarily ours) and a track record of getting stuff done.
Experience in engineering services in cloud environments
A thorough understanding of operating systems, particularly Linux-based systems
Ability to work collaboratively with the team and engage with internal customers, providing tools, support and education to make it easier for engineers’ to get things done
Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical people, and promote good DevOps practices across Engineering
You’re excited by the cloud/AWS and the opportunities that it brings
You’re able to effectively communicate and partner across engineering to maximise inner-sourcing opportunities and reduce waste.
You’re an advocate for quality and can lead the team leveraging approaches such as Pair Programming, TDD and BDD
Experience with tools such as Terraform and Ansible playbook
