Software Academy Placement Year
Would you like to spend a Year as a Capital One Software Engineer?
We have 3 placement spots in our Nottingham office to offer to students who are keen to work in highly agile engineering teams!
Over the course of the placement, you’ll be taking on real projects and development training. You’ll have a buddy on your team, a programme mentor – and you’ll even get to meet the CEO. You can also expect to:
- Hone your skills within your chosen area in everything from APIs to mobile, big data and cyber security – you’ll get a masterclass in software engineering
- ‘Build solutions on the Cloud by leveraging Open Source technologies to totally reimagine our business’
- Learn how automated testing provides the quality that allows us to move at speed’
- Learn all about Capital One and the industry we’re working to humanise
- Become a master of Agile working and get used to daily stand-ups and collaborative designs
You’ll have the basics down
You don’t need to be on a Computer Science degree course, but you’ll need to be able to program. We don’t expect you to be an accomplished developer – just enthusiastic and a quick learner.

All of our placement students will earn a £22,000 pro-rata salary, with a £3,000 signing bonus.
