We’re absolutely committed to our unique style of interview assessments. We see them as the best way of identifying people who can perform in the real world.

We’re excited about the prospect of finding out more about your potential, too. This tool will help you prepare for the assessments, so you can really shine.

Step 2/6

CASE STUDY INTERVIEW

What business model would you use to launch a new magazine? Could you run the numbers on launching an Airbnb for people’s cars? How would you structure a sales promotion on ice cream?

The case study interview is how we’ll test both your analytical and your strategic abilities. This isn’t just about being skilled with numbers – it’s about using them to solve problems. Your ability to use your data analysis talents to develop ingenious business ideas – and then communicate them clearly and compellingly is what will really make you stand out.

It’s a chance to get your teeth into a hypothetical business problem. You’ll work through it with us and show us how you got to your answers.

Step 3/6

PRODUCT INTERVIEW

Can you come up with brilliant business ideas, then evaluate their commercial effectiveness?

The product interview is your chance to showcase your creative thinking. We want to see that you’re able to dive into a new business idea, and then use your commercial knowledge to develop practical implementations for the ideas you propose.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re a really collaborative business so we look for people who enjoy working in teams. People who know how to listen to others and get their own point across in the right way – clearly, concisely and calmly.

In our Group Tasks, you’ll be given a situation or challenge to discuss as part of a small group. We’ll observe how you interact with other people as this will give us a good insight into how well you’d contribute to your team if you went on to join us.

There are no right or wrong answers here so the best way to prepare is to think about what makes for a good team dynamic – and to make sure you showcase your listening and verbal communication skills to the full.

Effective preparation

PRACTICE

Practice is the best strategy if you want to do your talents justice, so make sure you really familiarise yourself with the structure of our interviews. Go through the examples of the case study and product interviews, and practice how you’d respond to the questions.

THINK ABOUT YOUR DELIVERY

Having an analytical brain and good ideas is important. But being able to present those ideas in a compelling way is also key. Practice structuring your answers to deliver a really convincing argument.

STAY FOCUSED

It’s easy to get flustered when you’re put on the spot. Remember to stay calm and think about your answers – we don’t expect them to be perfect. We’re interested in potential, not polish.

KEEP AN OPEN MIND

The skills we’re looking for are relevant for almost every business, so don’t expect questions restricted to finance or financial products. We look for creative and lateral thinkers, so don’t be surprised if you get one or two leftfield questions!

ASK QUESTIONS AND DOUBLE CHECK

If you’re not sure exactly what the question is, if you would like something clarified, or if you hear an unfamiliar term, then always ask. We want to know that you’re thoughtful and methodical. And that means always double-checking your calculations as well.

BE YOURSELF

We look for certain skillsets here. But we don’t look for a certain type of person. So some of the best advice we can give you is to always be yourself. We’re a supportive, inclusive company that’s passionate about finding and nurturing people from all walks of life.
