About the role
As the UK Tech Finance and Capacity Operations Manager, you will report to the Head of SIG Operations. The role will lead three core operational towers within the Strategy Insight and Governance team (SIG) to provide governance, analysis, and insight to Tech Senior Leadership. Sitting at the intersection of Tech financial management, Cloud FinOps, and resource capacity planning, you will bring transparency to performance and spend across the organisation.
You will be a people leader, driving data-led decision-making and holding stakeholders accountable to ensure the UK technology budget is supporting broader business strategies. Through your leadership, you will mature team capability, streamline processes, and turn operational metrics into actionable executive insight.
What you'll do
Lead operational governance & insights: Direct the SIG towers to deliver high-impact analysis, executive reporting, and governance materials for monthly business performance reviews.
Manage UK Tech financials & FinOps: Oversee tech budget forecasting, capex processes, and cost centre management, while owning the UK Cloud FinOps practice to optimize cloud spend with engineering teams.
Drive capacity planning & recruitment oversight: Enable resource capacity management, delivery engineering tracking, and recruitment operational processes across the technology department.
Transform processes & tools: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance processes, data utilisation, and metrics reporting to drive efficiency across outcome teams.
Develop and coach high-performing teams: Provide engaging leadership to mature the multi-disciplinary team, setting strategic capability roadmaps and fostering a professional, data-driven culture.
The skills and experience you need
Financial & FinOps management: Strong experience managing tech budgets, forecasting, cost centres, and capex, alongside a basic understanding of Cloud FinOps practices.
Stakeholder management & executive reporting: Proven ability to engage, influence, and hold senior stakeholders to account, with expertise in translating complex data into executive-level visual stories.
Data analysis & numerical acumen: Advanced analytical skills with a strong command of Excel/Google Sheets to interrogate operational data, uncover trends, and drive data-led decisions.
Multi-disciplinary team leadership: Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and developing cross-functional teams while building resilience and clarity in ambiguous environments.
